Who are the Brave Ones?

1. Who are the brave ones now?

Those who fight for king and country,

Giving up their lives in glory?

Who are the brave ones now?

The heroes of our generation,

Worthy of our veneration?

Who are the brave ones now?

Those who kill to stop the killing,

Blind to all the blood that they’re spilling?

The days of bravery in wars are through

Brave deeds cannot describe what soldiers do.

Napalm, nail bombs and radiation,

The murder of entire nations.

2. Who are the brave ones now?

Those who will refuse to murder,

Those who won’t give in to terror?

Who are the brave ones now?

Working for the peace of nations,

Using love as demonstration?

Who are the brave ones now?

Those who stand prepared to die

Rather than fight evil with evil?

Let the brave ones take their rightful claim

To the honour roll of silent names

The world needs bravery as never before

But remember, it’s the nurses, and the children and the innocent

Who are the bravest in war.

3. So take your badge of courage and stand up for the truth

Do not be afraid to give yourself up in your youth.

There is no enemy but violence done to anyone

So do not yield to violence in return for violence done.

The brave ones never yield to violence -

Even in return for violence done.

Who are the brave ones now?

Who are the brave ones now?

Who are the brave ones now?
